Shimmering soundscapes of both synthetic and organic nature which evolve and dissolve, creating a dramatic tension as well as a fragile intensity.
Montreal-based musician and performer Kara-Lis Coverdale has been releasing music under her own name for the last 5 years.
The physical releases are centered around her electronic universe in which she subtly creates and deconstructs synthetic structures and layers while blending in more well-known elements creating a very non-alienating appeal to her minimal approach to the electronic sound.
Besides the machines that she skillfully handles, Kara-Lis Coverdale is also known for her skills on the piano – an instrument she has played since the age of 5.
On April 28th, Coverdale released her first work since 2015 titled “Grafts” via Boomkat Editions. Fact Mag wrote these impressive words: “Coverdale’s gossamer touch becomes apparent on first listen – the Canadian composer has a fine knack for crafting music that is both intricate and impactful, drawing you into her web of sound.”
