DJ, producer and live performer from Merseyside, UK, John Heckle, who revealed himself as Head Front Panel late last year, has produced records for Mathematics Recordings, Crème Organization and Tabernacle Records, amongst others. His releases include two full-length studio albums, The Second Son and Desolate Figures, plus multiple singles, remixes and EPs.

Beginning with residencies in Liverpool from the age of fifteen, Heckle built up a reputation for fast-paced mixing and an affinity for hardware, soon performing using three turntables and various drum machines. Full live-sets later followed, using a collection of assorted hardware. These sets are constantly evolving, but always maintain the same high energy as his DJ-sets.

In 2014, John Heckle anonymously produced nine EPs for the Tabernacle sub-label with the same name as his moniker, Head Front Panel. With a focus on raw energy and improvisation, and heavy influences from techno’s heyday, Head Front Panel turned heads throughout 2014 with the anonymous releases drawing parallels to Detroit’s techno luminaries of the recent past. Now, after a debut Live PA at Tresor Berlin, Head Front Panel continues to tour throughout Europe and beyond using ever-varying hardware selections.

Expect to have your socks and shoes rocked off and your mind left in a tangle when Head Front Panel ends PHONO15 with a blitz of dizzying techno.
