Ever since Lone aka Matt Cutler was first introduced to the world via his 2008 debut “Lemurian”, he has been able to keep himself on top of the game with his very distinct and personal sound. An ever-changing mixup of genres combine to form the kaleidoscopic expression for which Matt Cutler has been known through his five albums under the Lone moniker.
Hip hop, house and classic techno are just some of the reference points useful in describing Lone’s music. But the essence of his talent lies not in the sounds themselves, but in creating moods and atmospheres, whether they’re light, lazy and sundrenched or heavy, synthetic and cut-up. On his latest album, “Reality Testing”, Cutler has moved in a more feel-good direction with a record that will have you nodding all the way through summer. Both Mixmag and DJ Mag named it “Album of the month”, confirming Lone’s position as much more than just another bedroom producer.
At this year’s PHONO, Lone will bring a whole lot more than good vibes. We look forward to hosting an audiovisual extravaganza, when Matt Cutler enters the stage with visual artist Konx-Om-Pax for a riveting live show.
