PHONO17 will take place at two venues. Kunsthal Ulys will host the main stage and PHONOClub will be in the former dance studio Bobz.

Concrete dancefloors at Ulys

PHONO are thrilled to announce Kunsthal Ulys as main stage for this years edition of the festival. Kunsthal ULYS is a space for contemporary art and beyond. Located at the ‘Silo-island’ in Odense Harbour inside a tremendous  industrial hall, the wide concrete rooms are hosting all sorts of spectacles including exhibitions, concerts and art performances and much more. The place is driven by a creative collective of volunteers, most of them being artists themselves. Kunsthal ULYS exhibits almost all year round with different kinds of both national and international artists and collaborators, working with music, video, performance, painting, installation, you name it.

For the after hours PHONOClub will again take over the old dance studio Bobz located on the top of a car park.   PHONO has carefully selected a handful of the best DJs to play the off-venue PHONO Club. Without compromising in any way on quality or curiosity, this side of the programme will aim straight for the dance floor with names such as Berlin-based Cosmin TRG and UK’s own Mickey Pearce. We are also thrilled to add the DJ Lag who will showcase the South African Gqom sound that he’s been integral in creating. DJ Lag’s superb production skills have played a big part in transforming a sub-genre of house that began as soundtracks to taxi trips around Durban – and has become an enviably innovative part of the global scene.
